Fanna-Fi-Allah returns to India: two nights of true Sufi qawwali in New Delhi.
Now in their 26th year of international touring, Fanna-Fi-Allah is one of the foremost traditional qawwali ensembles in the world today. Thousands of performances across more than 50 countries carry the living spirit of Sufi shrine music to global audiences.
Led by Tahir Qawwal with a masterful ensemble of tabla, harmonium and choral vocals, the group stays rooted in classical qawwali, in the lineage of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, with no fusion, electronics or pop crossover. Poetry of the great Sufi saints, driving handclaps, soaring chorus lines and trance-inducing rhythmic cycles, in a communal atmosphere that welcomes everyone regardless of background or belief.
